Where Shall We Go Tomorrow...

The Route

With the world as your oyster, pinning down a plan gets a bit tricky. In an ideal world, we'd go everywhere, but chances are thats not too realistic, so we need to have a bit more focus.

But where to start? Like many people, we've hit our thirties and been wondering what its all about - is this it? Is this daily 9-5 grind all there is to life? Can we really spend the next thirty years doing more of the same? Or is there something more out there?? We've not got any kids, so no need to worry about that. No dogs or cats either, so another responsibility that doesnt have to get taken into consideration - its all about us!

So, having reached the heady conclusion that, Yes, we really could jack it all in and head off to the horizon if we really want to...what next?? Suddenly there was much choice it was bewildering. So, we spent many an hour at the PC, Googling words like 'overland, round the world, camper, conversion, truck, independent' etc, and found an amazing array of sites (some more useful than others!), looking for inspiration as much as anything else. Endless hours we'd talk over the pro's and con's of a bumper mounted shower system, or tent vs. truck - even opening up the discussion enough to include disppearing on motorbikes! The world was our oyster, and damn if it wasnt confusing! After weekends spent driving up and down the country, test driving everything from Pinzgauers to Landcruisers, eventually we started to narrow the field a little bit, and made a list of vehicle requirements and possible destinations.
