Independent overland travel through Africa in a Unimog called Moglet

So there it is, in glorious technicolour! Ok, so the image is a bit small, but you get the idea - we're basically starting at the top and working our way around the edge, going anti-clockwise. There's a few bits that are making me a little nervous, but recent travellers seem to say if you stick to the beaten paths and listen to local knowldege, you can avoid the landmines!

It's taken me a little while to plot the route, so the next stage will be to get a little more detailed on which borders at each country look like the best bet (and which bits to avoid). I'm also putting together a list of highlights in each country - I'd love to take a Lonely Planet with me for all the countries but I think that might be going a bit overboard!

As and when the plan progresses, I'll put a note on here so everyone else can have a look - it'll be interesting to see how much of the plan actually happens and how much of it we have to change on the way too!
