The Route > Europe
There's been much debate between us on this one. Original considerations included working our way through Europe, starting as far away as maybe Iceland, and slowly make our way down to Africa. However, scary price hikes in diesel costs have meant we've pretty much decided to do the sensible thing and make a bee-line for Morocco. We may deviate a little through France as my parents live a short way from Bordeaux, but other than that it'll be a whistle stop tour straight south.
Latest thoughts on water crossings into Africa are Algeciras to Ceuta. There's a variety of options, but rummaging on forums seems to imply its the least hassled route, plus a serious advantage of duty free fuel in Ceuta.
