As planned, we spent a day at the zoo, although initially it didnt look too promising - why we didnt expect pretty much all the animals to be tucked away inside their little houses rather than frolicking outside in the freezing cold where we could see them, I'm not quite sure! We wondered whether perhaps it might have been better value for money if the zoo had more of a 'pay per view' charging structure in place during the winter?? Things perked up a bit after a while or so though, and we both managed to get some good photos - the penguin enclosure is the largest in the world and Jason was particularly enamoured by the otters, apparently we have to have 'a few' when we get back... Word to the wise though - the entire zoo is built on the side of a steep hill so, no matter how much you may like your new posh-lady boots, dont be tempted to wear them - stick with the trail shoes! :-)
We also both had our third Jab B jab, which is us done with that one for a year, at which point we'll need a booster to take us for another 3 years. At an average of £45 an injection, I dont really want to think too much about how much money we've spent on innoculations...
On the last day at the Edinburgh site, we were in the final stages of packing up to leave when there was a knock at the door - someone else wanting to buy Moglet, perhaps?? No, it was a chap from another pitch wondering if he could borrow our ladder to try and break into his motorhome, as the wife had locked the keys inside when they both went to use the shower block! Ended up with Jason getting the big ladder off the back of Moglet and wriggling his way into their vehicle himself - no chance of the man fitting through the gap, and the wife was clearly not wearing much under the dressing gown she had wrapped tightly around herself! Good to know the ladder has so far proved useful to someone!
Drama over with, we hit the road and headed west towards Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument...
